David Henry

David Henry

David is a founder of Medea Capital Partners and has significant experience in the mining investment and finance business across several institutions. He established the Mining Capital & Consultancy business at Oriel Securities in April 2011, which made investments in junior miners via a GBP10m principal book and then undertook project finance and strategic advisory work based on those cornerstone investments.

Prior to Oriel, David spent 5 years at Société Générale as Vice President in the Mining division. Initially based in Sydney before moving to London, he focused on making principal investments in junior mining explorers and arranging Greenfields project finance for juniors in emerging jurisdictions, particularly in Africa and Asia-Pacific. He was analyst for the bank’s principal investments book and sat on its Investment Committee from 2008. Before joining Société Générale, David worked for the Bank of New Zealand and Goldman Sachs JBWere.

David is a New Zealand national and graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelors degree in Finance and Law.

Leonidas Howden

Leonidas joined Medea Capital Partners in 2013 and is a Partner in the firm covering both mining and oil and gas clients. Leonidas is responsible for origination and execution of investment and advisory mandates and has worked on a variety of projects covering precious and base metals as well as speciality metals such as Uranium. Leonidas primary area of expertise lies in equity valuation, debt structuring (including cash flow modelling) and mergers & acquisitions.
Prior to joining, Leonidas worked in the London office of WestLB AG, the German emerging markets lender from 2007-12 as part of the Commodity Finance team as an Associate Director. A core member of the origination team Leonidas structured and executed transactions including Syndicated Loan, Pre-Export Finance, Borrowing Base/Reserve-based Lending and Trade Financing solutions to a broad range of Oil and Gas and Metals clients across Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Leonidas is a British national and holds a Doctorate in Engineering from the University of Nottingham

Ansu is a dual qualified solicitor (India and England). She has over 4 years experience as a corporate and commercial lawyer. Prior to qualifying as an English solicitor, she worked with Amarchand Mangaldas in India, where she acquired significant expertise in Indian securities law and private equity investments. She has also advised on several mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law.

In 2014, Ansu completed her qualified lawyers transfer scheme exams and qualified as a Solicitor of England & Wales.

Ansu is an Indian national and holds a B.A LLB (Hons) degree from National University of Advanced Legal Studies, India.

Geoff McNamara

Geoff joined Medea Capital Partners in 2016 as a consultant and became a partner in 2017. He is based in Singapore, representing the firm in Asia-Pacific, and has over 25 years of resources sector experience.

Geologist with 14 years experience in Resources Fund Management, Project Finance and Corporate Advisory, firstly at Société Générale and then at Pacific Road Capital Management.

Prior to this, he had 11 years Operational and Development experience at Ivanhoe Mines in Mongolia, Lion Ore International and Western Mining Corporation.

Geoff is an Australian national, he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Geology and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment. He is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM).

Peter Stein

Peter Stein

Peter joined Medea Capital Partners in 2017 as a director based in New York and represents the firm in the Americas. He has over 30 years of metals and private equity experience, specialising in Latin America.

 Prior to joining Medea, he worked as a managing director at Arete Capital Partners and before that was a director of Pacific Road Capital Management, where he was responsible for US and Middle East investors and successfully raised over US$700 million of funds. The role included advising on sovereign and political risk for investment opportunities in Latin America.

 Peter was responsible for starting the Latin America investment banking activities for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, which became one of the firm’s most successful international ventures. Peter started his career as a metal trader for ACLI International.

 Peter is a US national and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Management from St Louis University. He was previously a director of Orvana Minerals Corporation, Minera S.A., ATIMM S.A., Kiska Metals Corporation, and Geoinformatics Corporation.

Peter Donkin

Mr. Donkin has over 30 years' experience in finance, including 20 years arranging finance in the mining sector, and continues to provide advisory and consultancy services to mining companies via his company, Allerdene Advisory.
He was the Managing Director of the Mining Finance Division of Société Générale in Australia, having worked for that bank for 21 years in both their Sydney and London offices. Prior to that he was with the corporate and international banking division of the Royal Bank of Canada.

His experience has involved arranging transactions for mining companies, both in Australia and internationally in a wide variety of financial products, including project finance, corporate finance, acquisition finance, export finance and early-stage investment capital.

He holds a Bachelor of Economics degree and a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Sydney. He is a director of Paladin Energy Ltd and Allegiance Coal Ltd, and was previously a director of Sphere Minerals Ltd and Carbine Tungsten Ltd.

Mr Murray is the founding principal of Swann Global with more than 35 years in the mining and executive search industries. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience that enables him to understand and accurately define the needs of his clients and candidates.

He enjoys close working relationships with key organizations and leaders within the mining industry globally. He is regularly invited to conduct Board assessments to leading mining groups in North America, Europe and Australasia.

He has an international reputation for the way in which he is able to add value to those who seek his advice and services. He is known for his forthright assessments and his ability to think about the industry in a unique way, often challenging the status quo.

Jack Hollihan

Mr. Hollihan is Executive Chairman of Litchfield Capital Holdings, Inc., as well as LCH Biomass Leasing Management Limited, a privately held London and US-based investment management and advisory firm.

He has over 30 years of global banking and investment/asset management experience in London, first at Morgan Stanley International, where he was responsible for several businesses, including European Power and Utilities. Latterly, he became Head of European Industry Investment Banking for Banc of America Securities (“BAS”), where he was a member of the Board.

He is currently the lead independent director of City Financial Investment Company Limited (London), a £3Bn+ AUM global equity, fixed income and alternatives asset manager. He is also a trustee and member of the Audit and Compensation Committees of two NYSE-listed mortgage REITS, ARMOUR Residential REIT, Inc. and JAVELIN Mortgage Investment Corp.

Mr. Hollihan received B.S. (Wharton) and B.A. degrees with honours from the University of Pennsylvania, and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. He has dual UK and US citizenship.
